PeerTV, the TV over the internet (OTT) technology solutions provider selling to ISPs, ethnic TV service providers and cable operators announced this week that its market –leading quad core High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) set top box had passed the stringent technical tests laid down by one of its clients, Kartina, clearing the way for a significant new order.
Commenting on the latest news, PeerTV CEO Avi Vermus said, “This is an important milestone for us. Whilst we test all technology thoroughly, ultimately, it is the approval of our clients which matters most – our latest H265 STB has now passed all its tests with flying colours and we are looking forward to proceeding with fulfilling this order.”
PeerTV unveiled its latest HEVC set top box at the IBC expo in Amsterdam in September of this year, where interest in the new technology was high, according to David Freidenberg, VP sales at PeerTV.
PeerTV was one of the first companies in the market to launch an Android based OTT and VOD set top box bringing together the advantages of the Android operating system, apps and a quick and smooth user experience to enable TV and web viewing via a single unit.
